Like most areas of the country, I am beginning to hear more people talk about the current state of our economy. I know the doomsayers have been using the dreaded "R" word for a few months now, but what is making me listen is the people I bump into at the local supermarket. When perfect strangers are willing to strike up a conversation about how bad they see all things financial (even when it is below freezing AFTER the first official day of spring!), I begin to think that there may be something going on. In the TAS/CallCenter Industry - I've heard from a lot of people who are "battening down the hatches" to get ready for tough economic times. I think we as an industry should take this opportunity to go on the marketing offensive. The perceived downturn represents a perfect opening for us to go to our existing clients and "help them cut costs" by handling more of their day to day communications traffic. We can also tweak the pitch a little to approach new clients.
As always, I welcome your thoughts and suggestions
